The Chickasaw National Recreation Area Quarter was released into general circulation Monday, November 14, 2011. At noon Eastern Time on the same day, the United States Mint started offering 100-coin bags and two-roll sets of the 2011 Chickasaw Quarter on its website at http://www.usmint.gov/ and via its customer service phone line at 1-800-USA-MINT (872-6468).
The United States Mint on Monday sent an announcement to customers about the release of the 2011 Chickasaw National Recreation Area Quarter and its availability in bags and rolls. The above image was a part of the Mint’s promotion. A coin forum and official release ceremony will also be held this week.
Like other 2011 issues, the 100-coin bags are $49.95 and the two-roll sets are $39.95. Buyers have a choice of bags from the mint facility in Philadelphia or Denver, the two that are responsible for producing U.S. circulating coins. The Federal Reserve Bank published circulation release dates for the 2012 America the Beautiful Quarters. Upon dispensation, the Federal Reserve will fulfill inventory orders coming from various banks and other financial institutions across the nation who supply the general public’s circulating coinage.

The United States Mint began selling 2011 Vicksburg National Military Park Quarter bags and rolls at noon, August 29. The new quarters were also released into circulation by the Federal Reserve Banks. Tonight the US Mint hosted a free coin forum for the public in Vicksburg, MS, and it will ceremoniously launch the coin tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m. Central Daylight Time.

The Vicksburg National Military Park Quarter is the fourth of five for 2011 in the America the Beautiful Quarters® Program. Overall, it is the ninth in the program that started in 2010 and will go until the last coin is released in 2021. The Vicksburg quarter features the U.S.S. Cairo, a Civil War gunboat for the Union Navy. The image depicts the boat on the Yazoo River as it would have been seen in its day. The United States Mint’s first 2011 America the Beautiful Quarters Three-Coin Set™ debuted Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at noon Eastern Time for a price of $14.95. The new set honors Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania. It is the sixth in the current quarter program that started in 2010.

The Three-Coin Set features three collector versions of the Gettysburg National Military Park Quarter — a proof quarter from the US Mint facility in San Francisco, an uncirculated quarter from the facility in Philadelphia, and an uncirculated quarter from the facility in Denver.

Today the United States Mint launched the Olympic National Park Quarter, the third new quarter-dollar design this year. It enters public circulation via the Federal Reserve Bank System today, and as of 12 noon ET the US Mint has been selling it in bags and rolls.

Today, April 25, 2011, the United States Mint began selling the first two 2011-dated 5 oz America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins to their established network of Authorized Purchasers (AP’s).
The Gettysburg National Military Park Silver Bullion Coin for Pennsylvania and the Glacier National Park Silver Bullion Coin for Montana are the first two available at this time. The US Mint only sells its bullion products to AP’s, who in turn sell them on to coin dealers, precious metal businesses, and sometimes directly to the public.
The silver bullion market has been on fire, per the recent annual sales of bullion American Silver Eagles. The Silver Eagle coins are much smaller than the America the Beautiful silver bullion coins, but they have been around much longer — since 1986. [click to continue…]

Mintages for 2011 America the Beautiful Quarters started smaller than the 2010 dated coins by several million. The United States Mint produced a total of 61,600,000 of the 2011 Glacier National Park Quarters between its facilities in Philadelphia and Denver. By comparison, the least minted 25-cent piece in 2010 was the Yellowstone National Park Quarter, which registered with a total of 68,400,000.

The Glacier Quarter, however, is not the lowest-minted. The US Mint struck 400,000 less of the 2011 Gettysburg National Military Park Quarter, with 61,200,000. So for now, the Gettysburg Quarter holds the record for most scarce in the series. [click to continue…]
